Linocut-embossed clay

Large, flat surfaces make an excellent canvas for displaying elaborate illustrations. These pieces begin as drawings that I transfer to linoleum using carving tools. The linocut is then pressed into the clay, leaving behind an embossed texture. Glazes are selected based on their ability to highlight the subtle textures while also serving as durable functional surfaces for daily use in the home.
